Strategic Business Development Manager, Relationship Banking

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Business Development Manager, Relationship Banking to join our team at Scotiabank. This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven professional to leverage their expertise in relationship management and business development to drive growth and success.
About the Role
In this key role, you will be responsible for developing and executing business plans to achieve individual target objectives and ensure progress is made towards maximizing potential business from existing clients and new prospects within assigned market areas. Key responsibilities include:
• Developing and maintaining regular sales call programs with clients to ensure effective management, retention, and expansion of each relationship.
• Establishing and maintaining solid relationships with hotel franchisors, franchisees, and key business referral sources (COIs) in assigned market areas.
• Identifying, researching, and calling on prospects to establish and nurture strong relationships with the goal of winning their business and becoming their trusted advisor.
• Maintaining current and thorough knowledge of Roynat Capital's specialized product offerings, including term, subordinated debt, and equity, to effectively promote tailored presentation packages that meet specific client needs.
• Maintaining current and thorough knowledge of client businesses and industries to identify holistic financial solutions that meet client needs.
• Monitoring all assigned accounts to ensure conformity to terms and conditions, as stipulated in credit authorizations, with timely financial statement reviews.
• Contributing to district office productivity and self-development by continually increasing credit writing skills, deal structuring skills, and other sales excellence behaviors.
• Understanding how the bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration or finance.
• At least 5 years of experience in relationship management and business development, preferably in the banking industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
