About This Opportunity
Black & McDonald's Mechanical Construction team is expanding its ranks. If you're a dedicated and collaborative professional seeking to contribute to a dynamic, innovative team, this opportunity is for you.
The Project Manager is based in Ottawa, Ontario, and reports directly to the Division Manager. The Project Manager will oversee the planning, organization, direction, control, and evaluation of construction projects from start to finish, adhering to schedules, specifications, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate scheduling, planning, and organization of labor, subcontractors, and materials.
- Ensure adherence to the company's safety policy on all projects.
- Liaise with project owners, architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and tradespersons.
- Monitor and enhance labor productivity.
- Responsible for cost forecasting.
- Review work, contracts, and WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies.

Education Requirements
Degree or diploma in construction management or engineering, or equivalent field experience.
Work Experience Requirements
5-10 years' experience in the construction industry.

- Advanced knowledge and understanding of:
- Contract management
- Construction scheduling, planning, and execution
- Blueprint reading
- Financial statements – read and comprehend
- Established mechanical practices, procedures, and techniques
- Applicable local and provincial labor codes
- Managing/leading union staff
- Organization and time management
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
