Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Skilled Trades Worker to join our team at Seneca. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting internal customers by performing a variety of tasks related to the operation, maintenance, and installation of the College's plumbing and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, and water heaters.
  • Perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation work on HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on air handling units.
  • Install, repair, and maintain water treatment equipment and sewage treatment equipment.
  • Oversee inventory control, including ordering parts and updating logs.
  • Coordinate contracted trades as occasionally required.
Requirements
  • Trade certification or equivalent from the Ontario Ministry of Skills and Development certificate of qualifications as a Plumber (Construction and Maintenance 306a), along with the completion of an associated 4-year apprenticeship.
  • 3 years' experience following plumbing licensing.
  • Knowledge of HVAC principles as applied to a typical building environment.
  • Experience in commercial or institutional settings with mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to interpret building mechanical drawings and specifications.
