Home and Community Care Support Services is committed to delivering responsive, accessible, integrated, patient-centred care. As a valued member of our team, you will play a key role in providing administrative support services to our Care Coordinators.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Administrative Support Professional to join our Central Access Team in Kingston. In this permanent part-time position, you will provide administrative support services to our team members, including processing new referrals, orders for services, supplies, and equipment, and maintaining confidential patient records.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you can apply your health care administrative support experience and skills to make a real difference in the lives of our patients. As an Administrative Support Professional, you will be responsible for:
- Providing administrative support services to Care Coordinators;
- Processing new referrals, orders for services, supplies, and equipment;
- Maintaining confidential patient records;
- Entering, updating, and maintaining a high volume of patient data in our electronic database;
- Answering a high volume of telephone inquiries from patients, families, and service providers, and referring callers as appropriate;
- Providing back-up support to other positions as required.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A college diploma in the health or social services field, or business/office administration preferred;
- 2+ years' related office experience;
- Accurate keyboarding/data-entry skills;
- Proficient with database software, MS Word, and Excel, and other applications in a Windows environment;
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision;
- Advanced multi-tasking skills, with the ability to meet performance and service goals;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team and interact tactfully and sensitively with patients from wide-ranging cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong listening skills;
- Flexibility to work a schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends to meet organizational needs.
