Cybersecurity Network Engineer for Advanced Rocket Systems

SpaceX, a pioneering space technology company, seeks a skilled Cybersecurity Network Engineer to join its team. As a key member of the Security Engineering department within the Information Technology division, this role will focus on designing and implementing robust network security solutions for SpaceX's advanced rocket systems.
Salary
The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing network security tools, producing threat models and assessing risk around existing configurations, providing subject matter expertise on network security and industry best practices, managing firewall configurations within the SpaceX enterprise network, analyzing and identifying creative network solutions for operational needs that present security challenges, documenting and formalizing security processes, and maintaining network security systems by applying system patches and other periodic maintenance tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 3+ years of network security experience or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree. Additionally, they should have at least 1 year of experience securing networks, IT infrastructure, applications, endpoints, and/or APIs, as well as experience hardening Windows, MacOS, and/or Linux operating systems. Preferred skills include a strong understanding of network security technologies, Python programming, and automation ability, familiarity with networking protocols and the OSI model, experience testing and implementing changes in a production environment, and strong self-starting and time-management skills.
