Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Director - Strategic Partner to join our team at Yorkville University and Toronto Film School. As a key member of our national People team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing people and culture strategies that align with our mission, values, and goals.

As a Business Director - Strategic Partner, you will partner with academic and business leaders to proactively define, develop, and implement people and culture strategies that support our university's growth and success. You will lead change management initiatives, collaborate with leaders to understand their hiring needs, and develop strategies for recruitment and retention.

You will also oversee succession planning and career development programs to ensure a robust pipeline of future leaders. Additionally, you will ensure that People practices in hiring, performance evaluation, and compensation support a diverse, inclusive, collaborative organizational culture and comply with regional and national labour laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement people and culture strategies that align with our mission, values, and goals
  • Partner with academic and business leaders to proactively define, develop, and implement people and culture strategies
  • Lead change management initiatives and collaborate with leaders to understand their hiring needs
  • Develop strategies for recruitment and retention, and oversee succession planning and career development programs
  • Ensure that People practices in hiring, performance evaluation, and compensation support a diverse, inclusive, collaborative organizational culture and comply with regional and national labour laws and regulations
Requirements
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing people and culture strategies
  • Strong partnership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with academic and business leaders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and strategies to diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to lead change management initiatives and navigate barriers to achieve desired outcomes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions
