About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned HR business partner to join our national People team at Yorkville University and Toronto Film School. As a Director of Business Partners, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing people and culture strategies that align with our mission, values, and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with academic and business leaders to define, develop, and implement people and culture strategies that drive business results and support our mission.
  • Lead change management initiatives and communications to support leaders and employees in navigating organizational changes.
  • Collaborate with leaders to understand hiring needs, identify diverse talent, and develop strategies for recruitment and retention.
  • Oversee succession planning and career development programs to ensure a robust pipeline of future leaders.
  • Develop initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction, leveraging data from engagement surveys, exit interviews, and turnover reports.
  • Ensure People practices in hiring, performance evaluation, and compensation support a diverse, inclusive, collaborative organizational culture and comply with regional and national labour laws and regulations.
  • Coach and advise leaders on best practices in performance management that enable a high-performance and highly engaged workforce.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as human resources, business, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in HR business partnering, talent management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing people and culture strategies that drive business results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
