Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Exercise Specialist to join our team at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare. As an Exercise Specialist, you will be responsible for providing direct client services, including evaluation, treatment, and consultation, to patients in our cardiac rehabilitation program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct client services, including evaluation, treatment, and consultation, to patients in our cardiac rehabilitation program.
  • Participate in departmental, program, and corporate professional activities that support direct client services and corporate objectives.
  • Provide float support for any program that utilizes an Exercise Specialist.
  • Deliver care consistent with the vision and values of the hospital and the standards of relevant professional organizations.
  • Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and promote a safe work environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Kinetics or equivalent.
  • Registered Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiology of Ontario (preferred).
  • Cardiac Physiology or Chronic Disease Management credit or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in a cardiac rehabilitation program or a chronic disease program.
  • Professional specialty in Applied Kinesiology/Movement Sciences (preferred).
  • Demonstration of ability to read and interpret cardiac monitoring (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Certification in the American College of Sports Medicine or Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (preferred).
  • Current membership in the Canadian Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation (preferred).
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License with the use of a car and insurance.
  • Commitment to and participation in Quality Enhancement activities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of computer functions and Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
