Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive evaluations and develop tailored treatment plans for clients.
  • Engage in departmental and corporate professional activities that support client care and organizational goals.
  • Offer float support across various programs that require the expertise of an Exercise Specialist.
  • Ensure the delivery of care aligns with the hospital's vision, values, and the standards set by relevant professional bodies.
  • Maintain compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Standards while actively promoting a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Kinetics or a related field is required.
  • Preferred registration as a Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiology of Ontario.
  • Completion of coursework in Cardiac Physiology or Chronic Disease Management is advantageous.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in cardiac rehabilitation or chronic disease management programs is preferred.
  • Professional specialization in Applied Kinesiology or Movement Sciences is desirable.
  • Ability to interpret cardiac monitoring effectively is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Certification from the American College of Sports Medicine or the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology is preferred.
  • Current membership in the Canadian Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation is an asset.
  • A valid Ontario Driver's License and access to a vehicle with insurance are required.
  • Commitment to Quality Enhancement activities is expected.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment is crucial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is necessary.
