Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director to join our team at BMO. As a key member of our Commercial Sales and Service team, you will be responsible for facilitating decision-making and analysis of credit information to support lending decisions and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Develop and implement cross-selling initiatives to increase penetration with clients.
  • Apply deep expertise in bank products, processes, and systems to ensure a high-quality client experience.
  • Coordinate closing with closing department, clients, and attorneys as needed.
  • Serve as a daily escalation resource to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group, providing strategic guidance and support.
  • Influence and negotiate to achieve business objectives.
  • Recommend and implement solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
  • Conduct independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
  • Help determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.
  • Act as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders.
  • Participate in the development of financial models and other analytical tools to assist clients in evaluating capital structure.
  • Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
  • Maintain current on financing trends in target clients' markets, and communicate same to team members.
  • Lead or participate in defining the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behaviour; develops tailored messaging; and identifies appropriate distribution channels.
  • Oversee preparation of concise, well-reasoned credit correspondence.
  • Coordinate the preparation of lending proposals and pitches to prospective clients with efforts to maximize penetration and returns.
  • Negotiate transactions with clients and provide deal structuring expertise.
  • Oversee documentation and ongoing monitoring of asset and client performance.
  • May manage workflow of other analysts by aligning tasks with departmental goals and objectives.
  • Provide accurate financial analysis and risk assessment of new and existing customers.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders for accurate, detailed client information.
  • Develop credit information to make lending decisions on new, renewal, and extension loans.
  • Assist in negotiations of terms and conditions of all decisions made via phone and e-mail interaction with clients.
  • Prepare summary, present facts, and offer opinions concerning credit worthiness.
  • Minimize BMO's risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures with respect to lending decisions.
  • Provide input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.
  • Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
  • Provide specialized consulting, analytical, and technical support.
  • Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Work independently and regularly handle non-routine situations.
Requirements
  • Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

BMO offers a competitive salary range of $64,600.00 - $119,700.00, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
