GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled Collections Administrator to support our financial operations in Edmonton. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts receivable, ensuring timely collections and maintaining accurate customer information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and escalate high-priority accounts to ensure timely collections and minimize bad debt.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, including terms, billing requirements, and payment history.
  • Contribute to month-end financial close processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy of departmental tasks.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity in financial operations.
  • Support reporting and analytics efforts, providing data-driven insights to inform business decisions.
  • Process customer credit card payments and manage related transactions.
  • Collaborate with the AR and Accounting teams on various projects and initiatives.
  • Make outbound calls to customers, with a focus on effective communication and relationship-building.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and directives from management.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Basic accounting knowledge and understanding of financial principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
