Job Description:

Erm is seeking an experienced environmental consultant to join our team in Vancouver, BC, or Calgary, AB. The successful candidate will have expertise in terrestrial ecology and wetland management, with a strong understanding of federal and provincial regulations.

About the Role:

This is a challenging opportunity for a professional to develop and lead field programs primarily in BC and Alberta, working on multiple projects within client scope, budget, and schedule expectations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and leading field programs to assess soils, terrestrial ecosystems, and wetlands;
  • Preparing reports, conducting literature reviews, and developing recommendations for clients;
  • Supporting preparation of proposals, including development of scopes and cost estimates;
  • Maintaining high-quality standards on project deliverables;
  • Communicating with regulatory agents, landowners, and clients during field activities;
  • Managing a team of junior and intermediate level ERM employees;
  • Building collaborative relationships with other ERM employees worldwide.
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have 5+ years of relevant technical and environmental consulting experience, preferably in government, mining, or oil and gas sectors. Additionally, you should have expertise in:

  • Environmental Assessment drafting;
  • Federal, Provincial, and Territorial regulations and guidelines;
  • Wetland delineation, classification, effect assessment, and associated regulatory permitting;
  • Soil surveys and mapping;
  • Terrestrial ecosystem mapping projects according to provincial standards.
