Job Summary

The Administrative Support III role is a key position within Alberta Health Services, requiring a working-level professional with moderate experience to support a department, program, or office. Working under limited guidance, the successful candidate will utilize developed skills to carry out a diverse set of activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule appointments according to established procedures.
  • Manage physician referrals, processing them according to procedure in conjunction with other booking clerks, Ambulatory Care Clinical Coordinator, and manager.
  • Work effectively under pressure, possessing problem-solving skills, being organized, and able to manage time efficiently.
  • Maintain clinic optimization to ensure full bookings.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent is required. Advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge are necessary to support complex procedures, practices, and initiatives within a department or program.

Medical Terminology and Office Administration courses are required. Previous recent experience in an ambulatory care setting, booking patients within the past 2 years, is also necessary. Previous Connect Care training and booking experience are assets.
