Event Operations Specialist

About the Role:
The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 is a biennial international adaptive sporting competition, and we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Event Operations Specialist to lead the operational fulfillment of the Skeleton event at the Whistler Sliding Centre. As the Skeleton Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of venue operations in partnership with the venue owner, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and managing the logistics of equipment storage, transport, and maintenance specific to Skeleton.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate event documents, including venue operations plans and daily run sheets.
- Assist with venue coordination and work with stakeholders to ensure optimal venue operations.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Skeleton and assist the Skeleton Coach.
- Coordinate with technical officials and Whistler Sliding Centre staff to manage race timing, scoring, and results.
- Implement and oversee safety protocols for competitors and spectators.
- Ensure all sports-specific regulations and requirements are met.
- Respond to incidents or emergencies promptly and effectively.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in sport management, event operations, or related fields.
- Knowledge of winter sports and operations, especially within sliding sports.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
