Operational Lead for Skeleton Event

About the Role:

The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 is seeking an experienced Operational Lead to oversee the Skeleton event at the Whistler Sliding Centre. This is a unique opportunity to work on a high-profile international sporting event and contribute to the success of the Games.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate venue operations, including venue setup, logistics, and technical requirements.
  • Work closely with the venue owner, technical officials, and Whistler Sliding Centre staff to ensure a smooth and successful event.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols for competitors and spectators.
  • Manage equipment storage, transport, and maintenance specific to Skeleton.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Skeleton and assist the Skeleton Coach with briefings, training, and competition schedules.
  • Coordinate with technical officials and Whistler Sliding Centre staff to manage race timing, scoring, and results.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in sport management, event operations, or related fields with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of winter sports and operations, especially within sliding sports like Skeleton, Bobsleigh, or Luge.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required during the event period.
