Cancer Care Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Radiation Therapist I to join our team at the new Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Calgary. About the Role

This role involves delivering prescribed radiation treatments to patients and assisting in the efficient planning of patient care during simulation and/or planning procedures according to the direction of a Radiation Oncologist. You will also assess patient reactions to treatment, document treatment plans, and maintain accurate patient records. Additionally, you will educate patients about treatment procedures, side effects, and strategies to mitigate these effects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver prescribed radiation treatments to patients.
  • Assist in the efficient planning of patient care during simulation and/or planning procedures.
  • Absess each patient's reactions to treatment and document treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate patient records.
  • Educate patients about treatment procedures, side effects, and appropriate management strategies.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy in Canada or an accredited non-Canadian program. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) is also required. In addition, you must be able to perform all duties of the job, including lifting and moving.
