Cancer Care Alberta is seeking a Radiation Therapist I to join our team at the new Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Calgary. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work alongside Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, Allied Health, Nursing, and Administrative professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver prescribed courses of radiation treatment to patients and assist in the efficient, safe, and accurate planning of patient care during simulation and/or planning procedures.
- Assess patients' reactions to treatment, document treatment plans, and maintain patient records.
- Educate patients about treatment procedures, side effects, and strategies to mitigate treatment side effects, making referrals to other health professionals as needed.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy in Canada or an accredited non-Canadian program.
- Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active or eligible registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
