We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Produce Department Supervisor to join our team at NOFRILLS. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the produce department to achieve exceptional customer satisfaction and sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Train and develop staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent customer service and maintain a high level of product quality.
  • Schedule staff effectively to meet business needs and ensure adequate coverage during peak periods.
  • Handle customer complaints in a professional and efficient manner, ensuring that issues are resolved promptly and to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety and Food Safety policies within the store, and lead by example in maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Train and motivate staff to achieve sales targets and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Delegate and prioritize workload for staff to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
  • Effectively merchandise and promote products to drive sales growth and improve customer engagement.
  • Recommend sales goals and targets that are achievable and aligned with business objectives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends and competitor activities to ensure the produce department remains competitive.
  • Ensure the efficient receiving, storing, and handling of products to minimize waste and maximize sales.
  • Ensure proper product rotation and display to maintain a high level of product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure pricing integrity and accuracy to maintain customer trust and confidence.
  • Take ownership of the store in the absence of the Franchisee, including key carrying and alarm responsibilities.
  • Perform any other duties as required to ensure courteous, friendly service, competitively priced products, and a store that meets and maintains the hygiene standards specified.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • 1-3 years of management experience in a produce department (produce, meat, deli, bakery)
  • Demonstrated understanding of critical success factors for the NOFRILLS concept as a discount food store focusing on low price image.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the produce department's impact on store performance, including merchandising, inventory management, pricing, and cleanliness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated customer focus and ability to manage people.
  • Ability to work with minimal functional direction and maintain a high level of autonomy.
  • Solid knowledge of all aspects of the produce area, operations, and products.
  • Open availability and flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays according to the needs of the business.
