Produce Department Team Lead

Job Overview
The Produce Department Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the backroom in the Produce Department. This position is crucial in ensuring a quality service approach to all employees, customers, and suppliers.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service and support Farm Boy's vision of delivering the best fresh shopping experience.
- Manage the preparation, packaging, pricing, rotation, and quality standards of produce to maintain high-quality standards.
- Offer administrative support to the management team by recording shrink, supply inventory, and orders.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by performing general 'housekeeping' tasks, including equipment maintenance and sanitizing, sweeping, and mopping.
- Lead by example by promoting corporate policies, customer service standards, departmental cleanliness, and opening and closing procedures.
- Assist, relieve, and train department personnel as requested by the management team.
- Adhere to all corporate policies, particularly those related to Health and Safety, Food Safety, and equipment use.
- May be asked to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.
Requirements
- Typically requires completion of a post-secondary program, along with a minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Clear and effective communication style, both written and oral.
- Good judgment and decision-making abilities while interacting with customers and Farm Boy team members.
- Ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools.
- Skilled at working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining priorities and a high level of performance.
- A flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Fluency in English and French is considered an asset.
Work Environment
- Providing service to several people or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines.
- Required to stand and walk for long periods of time during shifts.
- Required to lift, carry, or handle heavy objects.
