Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement effective strategies for managing the produce department to achieve business goals.
  2. Train staff to understand policies and procedures, effectively communicate with customers, and provide excellent customer service.
  3. Schedule department staff to meet business needs, handle customer complaints efficiently, and maintain a safe working environment.
  4. Comply with Health and Safety policies, ensure policies are followed by staff, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends and competitor activities.
  5. Delegate workload, prioritize tasks, and motivate staff to achieve sales goals.
  6. Effectively merchandise, advertise, and promote produce programs to enhance sales and profitability.
  7. Maintain accurate inventory, ensure proper product rotation, and ensure pricing integrity.
  8. Accountable for store operations in the absence of the Franchisee, including key carrying and alarm responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years management experience in fresh departments (produce, meat, deli, bakery).
  • Demonstrated understanding of critical success factors for the NOFRILLS concept and the produce department's impact on store performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, customer focus, and ability to manage people.
  • Ability to work with minimal functional direction, solid knowledge of the produce area, operations, and products.
  • Open availability and flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays according to business needs.
