Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Produce Production Assistant Manager to join our team. As a key member of the Produce Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the backroom, ensuring a quality service approach to all employees, customers, and suppliers.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service and support Farm Boy's vision of delivering the best fresh shopping experience.
- Oversee the preparation, packaging, pricing, rotation, and quality standards of produce.
- Assist the management team with administrative tasks, including recording shrink, supply inventory, and orders.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by performing general housekeeping duties, including equipment maintenance and sanitizing, sweeping, and mopping.
- Lead by example, promoting corporate policies, customer service standards, departmental cleanliness, and opening and closing procedures.
- Assist, relieve, and train department personnel as requested by the management team.
- Comply with all corporate policies, especially those related to Health and Safety, Food Safety, and equipment use.
- May be required to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.
Qualifications
- Typically requires completion of a post-secondary program, plus a minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Clear and effective communication style, both written and oral.
- Good judgment and decision-making abilities while communicating with customers and Farm Boy team members.
- Ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools.
- Skilled at working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining priorities and a high level of performance.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Fluency in English and French shall be considered an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you'll enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a retirement savings plan.
Work Environment
You will be working in a dynamic environment with multiple deadlines and requirements. You must be able to stand and walk for long periods during your shift. Lifting, carrying, or handling heavy objects may also be necessary.
