About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Visitor Services Coordinator to join our team at the Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Visitor Services team, you will play a central role in delivering exceptional visitor experiences and educational programs at our Museum.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Plan, coordinate, and implement front-line services and programs to visitors, with a focus on educational programming on behalf of the Bank of Canada.
  2. Deliver high-quality service by providing educational programs onsite and online, coordinating the daily operation of the Museum, and answering questions about the Museum and the Bank.
  3. Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum-based educational programs.
  4. Support the Interpretation and Outreach team in developing virtual and onsite educational programs and resources for schools.
  5. Develop and deliver training for the Visitor Services team on best practices for program delivery.
  6. Interpret the history and themes of the Museum and communicate them to the public through various activities.
  7. Contribute to the evaluation of visitor experiences by gathering statistics and working on short-term assignments.
  8. Assign daily tasks to Museum Guides, including scheduling and ensuring high-quality service.
  9. Provide input into the recruitment and performance evaluation of interpretive staff and training programs.

Requirements

We are looking for an effective communicator, self-starter, and team player with strong presentation skills and experience in educational programming. You must be organized, able to plan resources, and have problem-solving skills. Availability on weekends and holidays is required, with occasional evening shifts for special events.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Knowledge of the Bank of Canada, economics, and museology.
  2. Experience as a supervisor, including program delivery.

Education and Experience

This position requires a post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field and a minimum of one year of work experience coordinating services to the public and two years of relevant programming experience in a museum or public setting.

Language Requirements

  1. English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.
