About the Role

The Bank of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Visitor Services Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Visitor Services team, you will play a central role in delivering exceptional visitor experiences and promoting a better understanding of the Bank's economic and financial well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high-quality educational programs and services to visitors, both in-person and virtually.
  • Coordinate the daily operation of the Museum, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for visitors.
  • Provide expert knowledge and interpretation of the Bank's history and themes, communicating them to the public through various activities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum-based educational programs and resources for schools.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of visitor experiences, gathering statistics and working on short-term assignments.
  • Assign daily tasks to Museum Guides, ensuring high-quality service in all areas of the Museum.
  • Provide input into the recruitment and performance evaluation of interpretive staff, as well as planning and implementing training programs.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field, such as education, public history, or museum studies.
  • Minimum one year of work experience coordinating services to the public and two years of relevant programming experience in a museum or public setting.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Knowledge of the Bank of Canada, economics, and the retail sector is an asset.
  • Experience as a supervisor, including program delivery, is also an asset.

Language Requirements

  • English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.
