About the Role

The Bank of Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Visitor Services Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Visitor Services team, you will play a central role in delivering exceptional visitor experiences and promoting a better understanding of the Bank's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high-quality educational programs and services to visitors, including guided tours, workshops, and interactive experiences.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum-based educational programs for schools and other groups.
  • Collaborate with the Interpretation and Outreach team to develop and deliver virtual and onsite educational programs and resources.
  • Provide training and support to the Visitor Services team on best practices for program delivery and customer service.
  • Interpret the history and themes of the Bank's museum and communicate them to the public through various activities and programs.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of visitor experiences and provide feedback to improve services and programs.
  • Assign daily tasks to Museum Guides and provide input into the recruitment and performance evaluation of interpretive staff.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field, such as education, public history, or museum studies.
  • Minimum of one year of experience coordinating services to the public and two years of relevant programming experience in a museum or public setting.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences and situations.
  • Knowledge of the Bank of Canada's mission and values, as well as its role in the Canadian economy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and quality assurance.
  • Language proficiency in English and French, with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in the second official language.
