We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description

As an Inside Sales Associate at White Cap, you will be responsible for facilitating the sales process to generate new sales opportunities or upsell via phone, email, or other electronic communication. You will oversee responses to customer order and quotation requests for all levels of accounts received via outside salespersons, telephone, e-mail, and written and faxed correspondence. You will provide customer service for product information, order entry, and follow-up support in support of sales, gross margin, and corporate service goals.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • You will provide superior day-to-day customer service by assisting customers in determining product needs and providing logistics support for product needs ensuring compliance with all established company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • You will input sales orders into the computer system in an accurate and timely manner.
  • You will provide customer-requested information in a timely manner.
  • You will continuously improve sales and product knowledge by active involvement in both inside and outside training.
  • You will develop code directives for certain products while maintaining target margin goals. Generate profitable growth through quota attainment.
  • You will perform estimating, take-off, and proposal duties as necessary.
  • You will prospect for new sales opportunities via outbound calling and emailing.
  • You will provide product pricing by consulting the pricing matrix and other resources to determine the appropriate price ensuring compliance with company guidelines and procedures.
  • You will facilitate the sales process through project management, tracking open sales orders, issue resolution, and overall customer service and support.

Nature and Scope

  • You will refer complex, unusual problems to your supervisor.
  • You will work under general supervision, exercising some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques.
  • Your work will typically involve regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.

Work Environment

  • You will be located in a comfortable indoor area with infrequent exposure to unpleasant conditions.
  • You will spend most of your time sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunities to move about.
  • You may occasionally need to move or lift light articles.
  • You will typically require overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED is strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally 2-5 years of experience in this area of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-5 years of sales experience is preferred.
  • Experience with inventory sales is preferred.
  • A bachelor's or associate's degree is preferred.
