Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Communications Director to lead our communications efforts and develop a corporate communications strategy that showcases the city's strengths and achievements. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and media relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate communications strategy that promotes the city's brand and values
  • Provide strategic advice to senior executives on communications and reputation management
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media, community groups, and government agencies
  • Manage and execute communication plans, including media releases, social media, and special events
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement crisis communication plans

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in strategic communications, preferably in a government or public sector setting
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing effective communications strategies
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
