Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team at Correctional Health Services (CHS). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality care to clients in a correctional setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish therapeutic relationships with clients and assess their physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each client.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support.
- Monitor client progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
Requirements
- Graduation from a recognized Practical Nursing program and 1 year of experience working with offenders and/or in secure healthcare settings.
- Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification (OFA Level 3 certification for positions at the Ford Mountain Correctional Centre).
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with others.
