About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing full-cycle payroll processing for approximately 750 US salaried and hourly employees and 100 Canadian salaried employees on a semi-monthly cycle. Additionally, they will manage executive payroll for VP+ positions and prepare sensitive documents, including severance and stay bonus agreements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee a team of four payroll professionals, providing motivation, coaching, and expert guidance in payroll processes and compliance.
  • Proactively identify and capitalize on opportunities to streamline payroll policies and processes, leveraging automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly payroll reports, offering insights to various stakeholders.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of payroll-related bank accounts.
  • Develop and furnish compensation and benefits reporting for management and executives.
  • Collaborate with various teams, including accounting and operations, to establish new areas of analysis.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of full-cycle US payroll processing experience, with Canadian experience being an asset.
  • ADP Workforce Now experience is required.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel are required, with a passion for learning technology.
  • A proven ability to lead, with previous experience managing a team and driving change.
  • A Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation through the American Payroll Association is an asset.
  • An ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and to partner with stakeholders at multiple levels.
