Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems equipment and facilities. Your primary goal will be to provide highly reliable utility support to our Operations Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain building systems to provide specified environmental conditions and utilities to production, packaging, laboratory, warehouse, and office areas.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with building systems and facilities in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Compile and maintain documentation related to completed work, including CMMS records, log books, and change control updates.
  • Determine impact of required work and communicate effectively with colleagues and users to minimize service interruptions.
  • Work collaboratively with users, facilities staff, and vendors to evaluate and improve system effectiveness.
  • Recommend and maintain spare parts inventory to minimize downtime on critical systems.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Trade certification in an appropriate field (e.g., licensed millwright, refrigeration mechanic, industrial electrician) is essential.
  • 3rd Class Operating Engineer's Certificate or 4th Class Certificate with relevant steam experience is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in operating, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting complex systems (HVAC, boilers, chillers, dust collectors, air compressors, purified water systems) in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
  • Experience with computerized Building Management Systems and software programs, including Microsoft Office, is an asset.

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
