About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Buyer to join our Sports Experts team. As a key member of our buying team, you will be responsible for creating a relationship of trust and credibility with our franchisees, suppliers, and other stakeholders to drive business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet the needs of our franchisee network banners.
- Negotiate with suppliers to establish mutually beneficial agreements.
- Prepare and coordinate selection committees to establish advertising programs.
- Provide customer service to our franchise stores and suppliers.
- Manage inventory, markups, and markdowns of our warehouse categories.
- Work with our POP Hotline team to create catalogues and flyers.
- Demonstrate leadership and contribute to the management and development of an analyst.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sporting goods retail or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in retail, preferably sports retail.
- University or college degree in administration.
- Strong knowledge of the sporting goods retail market.
- Excellent negotiation skills with sports industry suppliers and franchisees.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Bilingualism (spoken and written French and English) is essential.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to travel.
