About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team at Kassen, a leading company in the software development space. This role is ideal for a driven and detail-oriented professional who excels in both independent and collaborative environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Accounting and Analysis: Assist with monthly financial accounting tasks, including journal entries and month-end analysis, to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results from various business units.
  • Forecasting and Reporting: Consolidate and review forecasts, quarterly disclosures, and monthly reporting packages, including detailed variance analysis.
  • Accounting Process Oversight: Oversee the entire accounting process from order to cash and procure to pay.
  • Business Insights: Track and report key business indicators on a monthly basis to provide actionable insights.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Prepare interim and year-end working papers for accounting and tax audits.
  • Account Reconciliations and Tax Filings: Perform account reconciliations and manage monthly US sales tax filings.
  • Financial Memo Preparation: Prepare accounting memos and work closely with internal audit teams to ensure compliance.
  • Quarterly Variance Analysis: Conduct quarterly variance analysis, comparing forecasted results with actuals.
  • Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis: Provide ad-hoc financial analyses as required, such as profitability analysis on Professional Services revenues and sales funnel reporting.
  • Administrative Support: Handle ad-hoc tasks including communication with insurance providers, banking representatives, and cheque mailing.
  • Financial Data Analysis: Support the local team by gathering and analyzing financial data to aid decision-making.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: Business/Finance degree (e.g., BBA, Comm.) and near completion of an accounting designation (CPA).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Finance/Accounting role.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel; experience with Great Plains accounting software is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle ad-hoc issues with professionalism.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with all levels of management.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Teamwork and Proactivity: Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to suggesting improvements.
