Job Summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Knowledge Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of knowledge management strategies that drive business value and improve decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain knowledge management systems, including the Court Intranet site, to ensure the efficient and effective retention and communication of organizational knowledge.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of information management policies and frameworks to enable users to connect the quality, quantity, and usage of information in generating knowledge assets.
  • Responsible for drafting RIM recommendations and assisting with the development and implementation of classification schemes to ensure timely access to information.
  • Support the Court of King's Bench Knowledge and Records Management policies, programs, and systems to ensure compliance with, and efficient operation of these initiatives.
Requirements
  • University degree in information management, records management, information technology, library sciences, or a related field.
  • Two years of progressively responsible experience in information management, records management, information technology, library sciences, or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team/collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to persuade, encourage, and motivate; strong written and oral communication.
  • Judgment, tact, and diplomacy when working with stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Business analysis and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to network and build effective relationships with staff and external resources.
  • Ability to synthesize information and provide recommendations.
  • Ability to weigh multiple needs to maximize results and achieve the best solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a Court environment, preferably with the Court of King's Bench.
  • Working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Understanding of records and information management (RIM) principles, policies, procedures, standards, best practices, and legislation.
  • Familiarity with web design and Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, PowerAutomate, PowerApps, and PowerBI.
What We Offer

This is a permanent position in the Court of King's Bench – Judicial, Edmonton/Calgary, full-time, working Monday to Friday 8:15AM - 4:30PM, 36.25 hours a week.

Final candidates will be required to undergo security screening.
