As a Laboratory Assistant at Dynacare, you will play a vital role in obtaining quality blood samples and other specimens from patients, conducting patient tests, and providing exceptional customer service to create a best-in-class patient experience.
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year
Job Description:
You will be responsible for:
- Obtaining quality blood samples and other specimens from patients using skillful venipuncture techniques
- Conducting patient tests, including ECGs, Holter Hookups, paternity, urine, drug, and breath alcohol collections
- Entering requisitions and processing samples for transportation accurately and in a timely manner
- Providing exceptional customer service to patients, displaying empathy, care, and kindness in stressful situations
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Secondary School diploma and a Laboratory Assistant training program or a Medical Lab Assistance course with specialized training in phlebotomy
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate instructions to patients
- Strong attention to detail and prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-oriented environment
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain quality metrics
