Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Lakes District Hospital in Burns Lake, BC. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered Medical Laboratory Technologist to bring their expertise and passion for helping others to a dynamic environment.

About the Role

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will perform laboratory work and related duties in various fields such as Biochemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Urology, and Microbiology. You will report data obtained to physicians and work under the supervision of the Chief Medical Technologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures
  • Analyze results and report findings to physicians
  • Maintain accurate records and databases
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:
  • A degree in Medical Technology or a related field
  • Current registration with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and software
