Job Summary

In the role of Medical Laboratory Assistant I at Cold Lake Hlthcare/Mental Hlth, you will provide high-quality service to clients in a clinical laboratory setting. This position involves a variety of tasks including procurement, handling, processing, and testing of specimens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform phlebotomy for adults, children, and infants using both macro and micro techniques.
  • Accomplish accessioning patient specimens and troubleshoot problem specimens.
  • Conduct ECGs and reception duties as required.
Requirements
  • A completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent is necessary.
  • Phlebotomy experience is required for this position.
  • You must be able to work within a team environment and possess good interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience performing macroscopic and microscopic urinalysis testing would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in EPIC LIS systems is preferred.

This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to represent Laboratory Medicine in a respectful, professional, and courteous manner. The successful candidate will support the lab by collecting and processing quality specimens for analysis.
