Première Moisson is a leading bakery and food company that has been in operation since 1992. We specialize in producing high-quality baked goods, pastries, and charcuterie using traditional artisanal methods and healthy ingredients. Our commitment to freshness, quality, and authenticity has been at the heart of our business strategy since the beginning.

We employ over 1,200 people and have 25 bakeries in Quebec and one store in Ottawa. Our products are sold in grocery stores in Quebec and Ontario, and our acquisition by Metro has enabled us to expand our reach through their distribution network.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Business Development Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will assist in achieving corporate objectives related to sales growth for Première Moisson and our private brands. You will be responsible for extracting and analyzing periodic results, making recommendations, and developing action plans to achieve sales targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of corporate objectives
  • Ensure the respect of Première Moisson's image in various files
  • Prepare and present periodic management reports to your supervisor and submit recommendations based on achieved results
  • Evaluate the potential and characteristics of current and potential markets for the company, as well as the needs of clients and the external environment (competitors, trends, prices, market shares)
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends and competitor orientations
  • Manage various work tools
  • Update product listings on the banner platform
  • Develop analyses, action plans, and recommendations to achieve sales targets
  • In partnership with the Director of Major Accounts, establish recommendations for sales budgets
  • Emphasize important business opportunities related to the company's strategy
  • Analyze opportunities with clients
  • Submit Gate documents for product innovation requests
  • In partnership with the Director of Accounts, submit strategies to clients to boost sales of products
  • Suggest commercial strategies based on ROI analysis from available market data
  • Ensure compliance with Première Moisson's promises when suggesting the development of new products
  • Propose the removal of underperforming products as needed
  • Submit new product pricing structures to clients
  • Be responsible for preparing documents for price increases
  • Update promotional calendars by banners and share them internally and with suppliers
  • Analyze sales activity results
  • Produce and provide reports, analyses, and presentations on product and market performance
  • Analyze and comment on the market and competition, and submit concise and complete recommendations, frequent store visits
  • Perform post-mortem analysis after the launch of new products, packaging, etc.
  • Participate in the development of sales strategies by client
  • Support the sales team for client presentations
  • Process sample requests
  • Ensure the follow-up of events/tastings of the brand representative (validate the availability of materials, ensure that they provide the required material (product description, image, etc.)
  • Provide a post-mortem report on each significant activity
  • Ensure the respect of the announcement schedule, and follow up (react quickly to deviations with recommendations and actions)
  • Perform a monthly visit to points of sale
  • Perform a competition tour at least twice a year or as needed
  • Bring ideas to improve processes
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the food industry
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Dunnhumby knowledge desired
  • Knowledge of the Metro environment desired
  • SAP knowledge is an asset
  • Excellent bilingualism (spoken and written): French and English
  • Passion for work, product, and client
  • Own a car and have a valid driver's license
