About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our healthcare team at PeopleCare Communities Inc. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer Medications: Safely administer medications to patients as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct Specimen Collection: Collect and process patient specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Ensure Infection Control: Implement and maintain infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections.
  • Monitor Nutritional Intake: Assess and monitor patients' nutritional needs and provide guidance on healthy eating habits.
  • Observe and Record Medication Effects: Monitor patients' responses to medications and record any adverse effects.
  • Record Medication Effects in Patient Files: Document patients' medication responses in their medical records.
  • Take Vital Signs: Measure and record patients' vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
  • Monitor Established Respiratory and IV Therapy: Monitor patients receiving respiratory and IV therapy and adjust as needed.
  • Provide Safety and Health Education: Educate patients and their families on healthy living practices and safety procedures.
  • Provide Nursing Services: Provide nursing care to patients based on individual assessments and care plans.
  • Monitor Patient Progress: Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with healthcare team members as needed.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Licenses: Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check, immunization records, tuberculosis test, and vulnerable sector check.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and perform physically demanding tasks.
