Position Overview
As a Registered Practical Nurse within our dedicated Medicine Team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities encompass a wide range of duties, from providing direct patient care and administering treatments to collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering high-quality nursing care to patients in a variety of settings within the Medicine department.
- Performing treatments and procedures as directed by physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborating effectively with the interdisciplinary team, including doctors, pharmacists, therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Monitoring patients' vital signs, assessing their condition, and documenting observations accurately.
- Educating patients and their families about their health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care practices.
Qualifications and Skills
- Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Completion of an RPN Diploma or equivalent.
- Current CPR certification.
- Minimum one year of experience in a hospital nursing setting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and assessment skills.
- Experience with patient monitoring and pain management is preferred.
