About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team at Schlegel Villages. As an RPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to residents, including administering medications, wound care, and other treatments as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to identify residents' needs and preferences.
  • Collaborate with the Neighbourhood Physician and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive environment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Existing Heart Save Level of CPR.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage stress in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, and regulations applicable to the Long-Term Care sector.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MDS credentials.
  • Experience working with people living with Dementia.
  • Knowledge of the palliative assessments scale.
  • Comfortable supporting residents and their families during end of life care.
