Talisman Theatre is a 20-year-old, award-winning, Montreal-based theatre company with a mission to produce professional, English-language premieres of contemporary Quebec plays.

The Role

We are seeking a Treasurer to join our Board of Directors. The selected candidate will have experience in budgeting and cash flow forecasts, nonprofit accounting and finances, designing fundraising strategies, and a passion for working in the cultural sector.

Responsibilities

The Treasurer will be responsible for:

  • Providing financial guidance and advice to the Artistic and Executive Director
  • Leading innovative fundraising activities
  • Participating in Board meetings and Committee work
  • Contributing to the development of the company's Strategic Plan

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in budgeting and cash flow forecasts
  • Experience in nonprofit accounting and finances
  • Experience in designing fundraising strategies
  • A passion for working in the cultural sector
  • Proficiency in English and French, written and spoken
  • Past board member experience
