City Treasurer Job Description

About the Role:

The City of Côte Saint-Luc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of City Treasurer. As a key member of the management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial and material resources of the City.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present financial statements and reports to the City Manager and Council Members.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Manage the City's budget and financial planning process.
  • Supervise and direct the work of financial staff to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with City objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including financial institutions and auditors.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in financial management and leadership.
  • Knowledge of financial software and systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Fluency in English and French (written and spoken).
