The Specialist, Client Development (Montreal), is a key member of our national Client & Business Development Team. Reporting to the Chief Business Planning & Performance Officer, and working with the Local Managing Partner, and other partners and leadership team members in the Montreal office, this individual will act as a strategic advisor and resource to help identify and pursue opportunities for revenue generation and brand awareness in the Quebec market.

We're looking for a candidate who has a strong knowledge of the Montreal business and legal community and its major industries. This individual will be responsible for executing the sales strategy, managing the planning and logistics of targeted communications and thought leadership initiatives, and client experience initiatives, drawing on the resources of the national Client & Business Development team where appropriate.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree or higher, in Business, Communications, PR or related field, and 5+ years' experience in business, marketing, or sales in a professional services environment. Fluently bilingual with oral and written mastery of the French language, the candidate will have strong communications and analytical skills, and be able to work independently and as a team.

The Specialist, Client Development (Montreal), will be responsible for:

  • Supporting Montreal lawyers and practice teams with their business development planning and execution, including identification and pursuit of opportunities in the Quebec market.
  • Articulating and optimizing the ways in which we sell our Quebec capabilities nationally to existing and prospective clients.
  • Working with the Proposals & Pursuits team nationally, assisting with the development, writing, and editing of proposals, positioning decks, and other marketing materials.
  • Identifying and executing opportunities to build brand awareness and client loyalty in the local market.
  • Developing an understanding of the Montreal lawyers' U.S. and international referral relationships and ensuring we are sharing information, coordinating outreach, and maximizing these relationships.
  • Helping ensure client contact and activity information is tracked and maintained in the firm's CRM system.

The Specialist, Client Development (Montreal), will be a key player in the growth of Bennett Jones' newest office and will be responsible for driving and supporting collaboration within the firm, client engagement, growth, recruitment, and retention.
