Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Strategic Business Development Specialist to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our Technology Innovation Banking (TIB) team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and development in the technology and innovation segments.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the technology and innovation industry segments, as well as experience in sales, business development, and relationship management. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions to drive business growth and profitability.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the technology and innovation segments, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Client Management: Provide exceptional service to clients, building strong relationships and delivering value-added solutions to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Credit Analysis: Conduct thorough credit analysis and risk assessment to ensure accurate and timely decision-making on loan applications.
  • Market Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on market trends and competitor activity, leveraging this knowledge to inform business development strategies and decisions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to ensure seamless execution of business plans and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, economics, technology, or related field.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in sales, business development, or relationship management, preferably in the technology and innovation sectors.
  • Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; ability to analyze complex financial data and make informed decisions.

Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this role is $85,000-$110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
