Strategic Business Development Specialist

Bennett Jones is a leading international law firm with a strong presence in Canada and the United States. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Client & Business Development Team in Montreal.
The Specialist, Client Development (Montreal), will play a key role in identifying and pursuing opportunities for revenue generation and brand awareness in the Quebec market. This individual will work closely with our national Client & Business Development Team, as well as our Montreal office leadership, to develop and execute a sales strategy that drives growth and client engagement.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Montreal business and legal community, as well as the ability to execute the sales strategy while managing the planning and logistics of targeted communications and thought leadership initiatives. This individual will be a key player in the growth of Bennett Jones' newest office and will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our business development efforts.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Communications, or a related field, and will have at least 5 years of experience in business, marketing, or sales in a professional services environment. Fluency in both English and French is required, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support Montreal lawyers and practice teams with their business development planning and execution
- Articulate and optimize the ways in which we sell our Quebec capabilities nationally to existing and prospective clients
- Assist with the development, writing, and editing of proposals, positioning decks, and other marketing materials
- Identify and execute opportunities to build brand awareness and client loyalty in the local market
- Develop an understanding of the Montreal lawyers' U.S. and international referral relationships and ensure we are sharing information, coordinating outreach, and maximizing these relationships
- Help ensure client contact and activity information is tracked and maintained in the firm's CRM system
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Communications, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in business, marketing, or sales in a professional services environment
- Fluency in both English and French
- Strong communications and analytical skills; able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage competing and changing priorities and effectively deliver quality work under tight deadlines
