We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Advocacy & Community Engagement Specialist to join our team at the CNIB Foundation in London, ON.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will lead the development and execution of municipal and regional level advocacy campaigns in southwestern Ontario, aligning with the foundation's strategic plan, public policy initiatives, and commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers, including municipal governments and the provincial government. Your excellent communication skills and ability to influence policy changes beneficial to the blind and low vision community will be invaluable assets to our organization.

In this role, you will:
- Develop and execute municipal and regional level advocacy campaigns in southwestern Ontario.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers, including municipal governments and the provincial government.
- Monitor and analyze government policies, regulations, and legislative developments impacting the community we serve.
- Support national advocacy initiatives and public awareness campaigns in southwestern Ontario.
- Recruit, train, engage, and actively manage an integrated team of community engagement volunteers.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with advocacy, government relations, public affairs, or communications.
- Experience in creating successful advocacy initiatives and program development.
- Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes in Ontario.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to build productive business and stakeholder relationships.
- Professional attitude, self-starter, and adaptable to a dynamic organization.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to plan and deliver clear communications to a dispersed audience.
We offer a competitive salary range of $43,600-$54,500 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including group insurance benefits, flexible and hybrid working arrangements, and opportunities for professional development and growth.
