Job Title: Water Treatment Plant Process Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Process Technician to join our team at 1823 Consulting Inc.

Job Summary:

The Water Treatment Plant Process Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining water treatment systems, ensuring the production of high-quality water for various applications. This role requires a strong understanding of water treatment processes, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain water treatment systems, including disinfection, oxidation, and pumping systems.
  • Read blueprints and technical documents to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Take physico-chemical measurements on water and sludge, and analyze test results to ensure water quality meets standards.
  • Perform security checks within the plant and on grounds, and respond to customer complaints on water quality issues.
  • Collect and test water samples for chemical and bacterial content, and complete and maintain plant logs and reports.
  • Help with the installation, assembly, and repairs to equipment, and make adjustments to plant equipment and systems as needed.
  • Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctioning and ensure plant systems are operating normally.
  • Operate and monitor computerized control systems and related equipment to regulate the treatment and distribution of water.
  • Patrol the plant to check pumps, motors, filters, chlorinators, and other plant equipment, and respond to any issues that arise.
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
  • 5 years or more of experience in water treatment or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
