Job Title: Water Treatment Plant Process Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Process Technician to join our team at 1823 Consulting Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining the water treatment plant, ensuring the highest quality of water is produced.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain disinfection systems, oxidation systems, and pumping systems
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements and take physico-chemical measurements on water and sludge
  • Perform security checks within the plant and on grounds, analyze test results, and instrument readings
  • Collect and test water samples for chemical and bacterial content, complete and maintain plant logs and reports
  • Help with the installation, assembly, and repairs to equipment, make adjustments to plant equipment and systems, and monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems
  • Operate and monitor computerized control systems and related equipment to regulate the treatment and distribution of water, patrol the plant to check pumps, motors, filters, chlorinators, and other plant equipment
  • Respond to customer complaints on water quality problems, transport and mix chemicals, and operate equipment used to unload chemicals
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in the field
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, handling heavy loads, overtime required, and repetitive tasks
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, judgement, organized, reliability, and team player
