About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Process Technician to join our team at 1823 Consulting Inc. as a key member of our operations team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain water treatment plant equipment, including disinfection systems, oxidation systems, and pumping systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical documents to determine work requirements.
  • Conduct physico-chemical measurements on water and sludge samples.
  • Perform security checks within the plant and on grounds.
  • Analyze test results and instrument readings to ensure optimal plant performance.
  • Collect and test water samples for chemical and bacterial content.
  • Complete and maintain accurate plant logs and reports.
  • Assist with equipment installation, assembly, and repairs.
  • Make adjustments to plant equipment and systems as needed.
  • Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect malfunctions and ensure normal operation.
  • Operate and monitor computerized control systems and related equipment to regulate water treatment and distribution.
  • Patrol the plant to check pumps, motors, filters, chlorinators, and other equipment.
  • Respond to customer complaints regarding water quality issues.
  • Transport and mix chemicals, and operate equipment used to unload chemicals.
Requirements
  • 5 years or more of experience in water treatment plant operations.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy loads and work in a confined space.
