About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Process Technician to join our team at 1823 Consulting Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective treatment of water at our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain disinfection, oxidation, and pumping systems to ensure optimal water treatment
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with safety protocols
  • Conduct physico-chemical measurements on water and sludge to monitor treatment effectiveness
  • Analyze test results and instrument readings to identify areas for improvement
  • Collect and test water samples for chemical and bacterial content to ensure water quality standards are met
  • Complete and maintain plant logs and reports to track treatment processes and identify trends
  • Assist with equipment installation, assembly, and repairs to ensure optimal plant performance
  • Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect malfunctioning and ensure normal operation
  • Operate and monitor computerized control systems to regulate treatment and distribution of water
  • Patrol plant to check pumps, motors, filters, chlorinators, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Respond to customer complaints regarding water quality issues
  • Transport and mix chemicals, and operate equipment used to unload chemicals
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in water treatment plant operations
  • College diploma or equivalent in a related field
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
