Executive Assistant Role Summary:

The City of Iqaluit is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to provide administrative support to the Mayor, Council, Chief Administrative Officer, and City Clerk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing routine and confidential administrative services and support to senior officials.
  • Assisting in the preparation of materials and information for Council and the Chief Administrative Officer.
  • Coordinating and planning events, meetings, and other activities as required.
  • Managing and maintaining accurate records and files.
  • Communicating effectively with staff, Council members, and the public.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible office experience, including 2 years as an executive assistant.
  • Knowledge of municipal administration and secretarial services.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office Suite.

Assets:

  • College Diploma in Business Management or Administration.
  • Political Acumen.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Ability to speak and write in English and Inuktitut.
